These terms and conditions are in place to support a clear, respectful, and professional experience for both clients and therapists. They outline important information regarding services, consent, payments, and responsibilities. Please take a moment to review them before your appointment.

PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION

 

​Spirit & Body Work therapists are licensed and recognized health providers under the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC). This ensure that all services are provided according to professional standards of health, wellness, and therapeutic care.

 

APPOINTMENTS, CANCELLATIONS & PAYMENTS

 

A valid credit card is required at the time of booking to guarantee all appointments. By scheduling an appointment, you agree to the following policies.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

 

LATE CANCELLATIONS (less than 24 hours’ notice)

​

• First occurrence (one-time courtesy): No charge

• Second occurrence (within a rolling 12-month period): 50% of the service fee

• Third occurrence (within a rolling 12-month period): 100% of the service fee

Cancellation history resets after 12 consecutive months without a late cancellation.

Unpaid cancellation fees will prevent future bookings until the balance is paid. If unpaid after 30 days, no future appointments will be accepted.

 

NO SHOWS

 

Failure to arrive for a scheduled appointment without notice (“No Show”) will result in a 100% charge of the session value.

Appointments booked using gift certificates that result in a No Show will cause the certificate to be forfeited.

 

LATE ARRIVALS

 

A 15-minute grace period is provided. Arrivals beyond this time may result in:

• A shortened session to accommodate other scheduled clients

• A late fee of up to $35, at the therapist’s discretion

• Same-day rescheduling subject to availability and a $35 late rescheduling fee

If another client is scheduled after your appointment, your session will end at the originally scheduled time regardless of arrival time.

Sessions may be declined if there is insufficient time remaining to provide effective treatment.

 

RIGHT TO REFUSE OR TERMINATE SERVICE

 

Spirit & Body Work reserves the right to refuse, discontinue, or terminate any session at any time for reasons including, but not limited to, safety concerns, policy violations, intoxication, inappropriate behavior, or failure to follow professional boundaries. In such cases, full payment may be required.

 

PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES & INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR

 

Spirit & Body Work maintains a strictly professional and therapeutic environment.

Any of the following behaviors will result in immediate termination of the session, full payment being charged, and possible permanent refusal of future services:::

• Sexual comments, gestures, or advances

• Requests for sexual services or inappropriate touch

• Lewd, suggestive, or disrespectful language

• Intentionally exposing oneself

• Harassment, intimidation, or aggressive behavior

• Attempting to negotiate services outside the professional scope

 

If inappropriate behavior occurs, the session will end immediately and law enforcement may be contacted if necessary.

CONSENT, DRAPING & ATTIRE

​

Clients are professionally draped at all times in accordance with California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) standards. Only the area being worked on will be undraped.

Clients are required to wear appropriate undergarments during all sessions. Requests to remove undergarments will not be accommodated.

Informed consent is obtained prior to treatment. Clients may request adjustments or discontinue the session at any time.

Any violation of consent or draping standards will result in immediate termination of the session with full payment due.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE & NON-MEDICAL DISCLAIMER

​

Massage, bodywork, and energywork services are provided for therapeutic, wellness, and relaxation purposes.

Although our therapists are recognized health providers under CAMTC, services are not a substitute for medical care and do not include diagnosis, prescription, or treatment of medical conditions.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY & DISCLOSURE

​

Clients are responsible for disclosing all relevant health conditions, injuries, medications, or changes in health prior to each session. Spirit & Body Work is not responsible for complications arising from undisclosed or incomplete information.

By booking an appointment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to all Spirit & Body Work policies.
